Mixed-use building INIT

prijsBNA nomination Jonge Architecten

A covered piece of the city

In order to meet with the raw character of the monumental factory buildings on the Oostenburgereiland we gave the mixed-use building INIT a strong identity. We designed the building as a set of shelves, in which various programmes can be flexibly accommodated. The double-glazed facade serves as an information board and exhibits the dynamic activity of the interior. The extremely high density (Floor Space Index (FSI) = 4) and optimum flexibility make INIT an impressive, timeless building with an adaptable appearance.
