De Valk

Conserved soul in a new coat

With an extensive renovation we have provided this 1960’s residential building with own strong identity. One of the two building parts has been given a new orientation, by relocating the gallery-access onto the original side of the balconies. Through this the complex has changed into an ensemble of two buildings with interchanging façades. On the side of the gallery-access the building has strong horizontal lines, whilst the balcony side consists of a graphic pattern of surfaces across multiple floors. A piece of the soul of the neighbourhood is conserved in a functional and attractive building.
