One large family
Situated between the high-lying, linear, grainy structure of the Hoofdstraat and the lower-lying 70’s neighbourhood, the new building provides the transition between the two characters. The apartment block responds to both scales and through this has two sides; they are brother and sister to each other and the dwellings are the cousins. Together the buildings form one whole that is characterised by extensive glazing, rounded corners, a play in brickwork and fine detailing. ’A pearl for De Lier’ according to Councillor Arne Weverling.
